Open House Day-of Event Info

  • You'll be able to explore the Ranch and visit our new Fitness and Event Center.  You'll have the opportunity to meet the ranch animals, including mini donkeys, pygmy goats, baby doll sheep and lamb.

  • Please drive slowly through the ranch as my 3 dogs, Aspen, Rusty, and Sophie, will be running around, and maybe the two pygmy goats Kato & Obi, as they have shown to be escape artists from their pen.

  • Be prepared to be outdoors walking the 15-acre ranch - you probably won’t walk every square foot, but when I do “a loop” around the ranch, it’s about a ½ mile.

  • Wear sunscreen!

  • Wear comfortable shoes and ones that would be OK if you stepped in farm animal poop - just saying, I learned this the hard way!

  • There are some very steep hills that you will not be able to avoid going from one place to another, but we have put some benches on them, so if you need to stop to sit down, you can.

  • Be on the lookout for rattlesnakes; they live out here.

Lunch:  Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the property.

Happy Birthday Mocha! We will be celebrating our donkey Mocha’s 1-year birthday with chocolate cake and mocha lattes.  Her best friend, Ce Ce the donkey, turns one in June. They are a bonded pair.

Things You Might See

If you park up by my house on the ADU site, look over the hill on the right side, as there is usually a herd of longhorn cattle about 50 feet away. Also, from this vantage point, you
might see the ocean if it is clear -- I am 14 miles away as the crow flies.

When you are walking the property, a herd of Highland cattle may be in the back pasture
with the 100 x 150 arena.

We have an orchard with 11 varities of fruit trees! You may see cherry, avocado,
apricots, apple, pear, peach, lemon, orange, grapefruit, lime & orange trees, plus berries and
grape vines.

A portion of the sales will go to the Ranch to support our animals.

The mastermind behind our new screened-in catio (cat patio) is Alan Breslauer, aka Catio Guy (catioguy.com) — a Los Angeles-based custom cat enclosure builder who has been designing and building catios since 2017. With nearly 600 builds under his belt and over a million cat lovers following him across social media, the LA Times called Catio Guy "one of the most visible cat-focused businesses in the country, if not the world."

Alan will be on hand during the open house to answer any questions.
